VII - The Chariot

The chariot tells us to persevere on our journey, and to overcome adversity. It tells us to focus on our intent, and master our emotions.

Journeys can happen at all levels, whether it’s a physical trip somewhere, or a spiritual journey of awakening. The Chariot reminds us that we need to persevere, triumph over the obstacles that the universe places in our way to help us grow and evolve, and will into being the life that we want to lead. Only by mastering our emotions can we transcend into the world of spirit, and only through spirit and purity of intent can we progress on our spiritual voyage.

This is the card of authority, discipline, and of using your will. It is heavily associated with the solar plexus chakra, and represents having the willpower to overcome whatever obstacle is placed in your way - persevere and endure, your path is harder because you are destined for great things.

Ill versed it speaks to us of failure, last minute loss, and an unsuccessful effort that falls short of what is needed. Giving up, succumbing to the negative thoughts that always say you are not enough, you are not worthy, you can’t do this. In the inverted position the card suggests to you the areas that you may need to focus on. Anything is possible, you just need to not give up too soon and do the inner work that is required.
